Habitat Management

Habitat management is a vital part of any countryside management project and links in with the initial ecological surveys that have been carried out previously or are about to be undertaken. Habitat management can be broken down into various areas:

  • Habitat conservation
  • Habitat protection
  • Habitat restoration
  • Habitat enhancement
  • Habitat creation

Each of these areas brings their own challenges and also expectations such as working within habitats of principal importance and statutory designated sites through to managing habitats for priority species and complying with national and international legislation.
